This course will provide the necessary courses mandated by the state of Florida.

Preventing Medical Errors

As required by the Florida Legislature, Section 456.013(7) - this two-hour course includes rootcause analysis, error reduction and the prevention of medical errors.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education through the joint sponsorship of the Florida Medical Association, Florida Atlantic University, and the American Dental Association. The Florida Medical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing education credits for dentists and continuing medical education for physicians.

The Florida Medical Association designates this educational activity for a maximum of four (4) category 1 credits(s) toward the ADA Continuing Education Award or four (4) credits towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each dentist or physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.

Presented by Malcolm Meister, DDS, MSM, JD

Dr. Malcolm Meister is a Professor in Orthodontics at Nova Southeaster University College of Dental Medicine. He was the founding Chairman of the Orthodontic Department at NSY – CDM and remained as Chairman for 10 years. He has a Law Degree from NSU in addition to Dental and Orthodontics degrees from NYU.

He practiced orthodontics in North Miami Beach for 30 years and since graduation in Law from NSU in 1996, has dedicated his time and efforts to academics. His lecture concentration has been in Orthodontic Practice and Theory, Biomechanics, Growth and Development, and Law and Ethics.
